 Sports Injuries

Our Sports Therapists  are trained to assess and treat a wide range of musculoskeletal injuries. A postural assessment gives the therapist a sound understanding of your body so we know what movements are restricted or dysfunctional.  As well as treating the muscles, both peripheral and spinal joint mobilisations can be implemented to help to reduce pain and/or increase range of motion.

UK Sports Massage works closely with osteopaths and chiropractors to ensure the best from the musculoskeletal system.

Exercise Rehabilitation

Although we will try to help your recovery as much as we can, it is important for you, the client, to ensure your injury is rehabilitated properly. At UK sports massage we can detect areas which need to be strengthened or stretched and give you sound advice and an exercise based rehabilitation programme which will be specific, simple and effective.

Electrotherapy (ultrasound)

Everyone wants to recover as a quickly as possible and ultrasound can help with that. By reducing pain and swelling and speeding up the healing process, ultrasound works well getting deeper into musculoskeletal structures at a microscopic level.  Here at UK sports massage we offer ultrasound treatments in conjunction with regular massage as a pain free method to enhance recovery. Using ultrasound massage on the trigger points of injured muscles helps to relax the muscle from the trauma of the injury. When relaxed the muscle can heal from its injury much more quickly and more effectively with less scar tissue. While full body ultrasound treatments are not practical, ultrasound treatments on localized trouble areas are very effective.
